independent LAB to host next-generation soft-switch TECHNOLOGY “shoot out” on telecomnext Exhibit floor

Must-See Technology Assurance Labs Session Allows Buyers to Compare Products

WASHINGTON, D.C. – To help TelecomNEXT attendees make the right investment decisions as the telecom industry expands to provide consumers with voice, data, and video services over IP networks, leading independent testing group Technology Assurance Labs will host a next-generation soft-switch technology “Shoot Out” on the TelecomNEXT exhibit floor.

This must-see demonstration on an expanded – due to high demand – TelecomNEXT exhibit floor will feature top executives from four leading technology companies discussing their products in a side-by-side comparison. The soft-switch products on display will help service providers link public switched telephone networks to IP networks to deliver seamless communications. Also on the exhibit floor, attendees will see the latest technologies on display including IMS network solutions, IP video products and innovative wireless technologies.

TelecomNEXT, the only place where the business and technology of communications and entertainment meet, replaces SUPERCOMM® as USTelecom’s annual industry show and will be held in Las Vegas, March 19-23, 2006.“Next-generation soft-switch technology is in high demand as communications service providers develop and deploy IP networks. The Technology Assurance Labs Shoot Out on the TelecomNEXT exhibit floor will be a great place for service providers to compare the latest soft-switch products from some of the world’s most innovative technology companies,” said John Abel, Senior Vice President – Membership, Marketing and Business Development for USTelecom.

The soft-switch “Shoot Out,” hosted by independent testing firm Technology Assurance Labs, features a side-by-side discussion of next-generation soft-switching products from Nortel, Cisco, MetaSwitch, and Tekelec.

It will be held on the TelecomNEXT exhibit floor on Tuesday, March 21 at 11 am. The session is designed to help service providers select the best solution for their networks.

Technology Assurance Labs is an independent lab providing business-focused technology solutions and testing to network and service providers, equipment manufactures, and venture capital groups both domestically and internationally.  Ken Stauffer, Co-Founder of Technology Assurance Labs will moderate the shoot-out.

“Technology Assurance Labs has spent a lot of time examining the newest soft-switching technologies and products and this is a great opportunity for attendees making purchasing decisions to see how the technologies measure up,” Stauffer said.

Andy Randall, VP of Marketing, MetaSwitch

Robert Russell, Director Product Marketing, Tekelec

Lake Buena Vista-based Smart City completed the installation of a wireless network at the Orange County Convention Center. According to Smart City, the project is the largest of its find on the East Coast. It took approximately six months to complete and encompass 5 million square feet. The system includes more then 300 access points and can support thousands of simultaneous users. The system can provide both per-hour and per-day service. Smart City also completed a high-speed fiber-optic ring in the metro Orlando area. The ring connects Smart City’s Lake Buena Vista headquarters and its Maitland data center with the convention center and the Walt Disney World data center. It connects with other networks at nodes operated by AT&T and Bell South. Technology Assurance Labs, a UCF Technology Incubator company, helped in designing, testing, and installing the ring.
